On Lucent Dusk we have seen zombies on a plane in Flight of the Living Dead, in the Wild West in Undead or Alive, and in the heart of Texas in Dead and Breakfast. With Dance of the Dead, we now get to see zombies at the prom!

In the laughable tradition of the zombedy, //www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001D262LA?ie=UTF8&tag=lucdus-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B001D262LA' Dance of the Dead tells the story of an unlikely group of high school students who find themselves trying to save their town from an invasion of the undead on the night of the prom. Geeks along with stoners, cheerleaders, bullies, and jocks arm themselves with axes, baseball bats, guns and guitars and engage in some entertaining zombie slayage while dressed in formal finery.

The movie doesn't take itself too seriously and is filled with wonderful camp and stereotypes. The reason for the undead invasion is hinted at but never fully explained, though the cemetary caretaker knows more than he's telling. The zombies are of the "fast" variety, seem to have more intelligence than the average flesh-eater, and respond to sounds. Music really does calm the ravenous beast, and that fact leads to several entertaining scenes.

It is a fun, dopey, laugh-out-loud zombie flick and well worth watching. Be sure to keep an eye out for the zombie romance; it is delightfully gory and just as much fun as seeing zombies pop from their graves like pieces of bread from a souped up toaster.
